Although there are thousands of flowering plant species in the world, I only have my heart set on a single one. I believe it is the most beautiful and exotic type of flower you can find. Its striking two tone colors make it extremely unique and eye catching. Its unusual shape is captivating. It’s a very delicate flower.
Its perfect appearance makes it look wonderful in all garden settings. In my opinion, the best way to showcase its beauty is by putting it in hanging baskets outside your house. I am talking about the magnificent fuchsias. I have a particular taste regarding my garden’s landscape. I only want to include the best of the best.
It makes me feel inspired and motivated whenever I’m surrounded by fuchsias. It has a very lovely feminine scent which makes me fall in love with it even more. Its scent perfectly complements my personality.
I find it very important to water and care for my fuchsia plants the right way. I have the assurance that they’ll be able to grow abundantly all summer long as long as I pay attention to its daily needs. I’ve made it a habit to check if there are any insects taking over its leaves. Insects are known to cause damage to these delicate flowers.
I make sure to check the area where the leaf and stem meets. This is the most common place where I usually find insects. I have planted a total of twenty four fuchsia plants in my garden because I’ve become obsessed with them. Just like all other plants, fuchsias require the right amount of light to stay healthy. I always prefer planting or hanging them in an area which is semi-sunny. This means I keep them away from direct sunlight while still giving them the right amount they need.
They are very sensitive to heat and much prefer being exposed to cooler temperatures. During the summer months, I take extra care of my fuchsias. Exposing them in too much heat weakens them. It could hinder them from growing into fully developed plants. Because of its sensitivity to sunshine, I always ensure that they get plenty of shade at all times.
The proper care of fuchsia plants include the appropriate amount of water, especially during summer time. However, I always keep in mind not to put too much water as this can make their roots rot. This is why I only water them as needed. I make sure not to do it too frequently. I’ve also invested in the best quality pots to ensure that the water will have an adequate amount of drainage to pass through. Regular fertilization is essential in fuchsia plants.
I personally follow the recommended frequency of fertilizing them which is every two weeks. It’s important for these plants to always have good nutrition. However, I prefer decreasing the amount of fertilizer I put during late summer. The main reason for this is because the fuchsia plants need to get ready for the upcoming winter season.
When the weather starts getting colder, I make sure to take them inside the house. This is a very important step to avoid frost from building up. They continue to grow healthy while indoors until spring comes. When the right weather condition returns, I put them back outdoors where they flourish and thrive.
My fascination towards fuchsias started when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was sixteen back then and it was a very difficult time in my life. I took care of my mom at the hospital for weeks and I watched her in pain. After eight months, she passed away. Fuchsias have always been her all time favorite flower.
Because of this experience, I have realized that planting flowers and gardening in general is an amazing weight loss motivation. It has also made me very conscious about my weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It has also helped me cope with the pain and has been my constant reminder that life goes on.
No matter what difficult challenges I may be faced with, I believe that with perseverance and a strong faith I’ll be able to overcome anything. Fuchsias can grow abundantly in different landscapes. They are easy to grow as long as you have the commitment to take care of them properly. Below are some posts involving these types of flowers, as well as some stories.
